How sharp are your diving skills? Has it been a while since your last dive? If so, your Hawaiian diving adventures will be more enjoyable with a tune up. Why not shake off the dust, catch up on the newest safe diving techniques, and bring your underwater breathing and buoyancy up to par. The Scuba Skills Update Program is designed to identify the areas where a review would benefit you most. Then, you and your instructor can customize the course to meet your needs. 

The course includes a brief classroom session, in-water skills review, and buoyancy tune-up on a reef tour. If time permits a second dive can be made to refine buoyancy skills and techniques to reduce your air consumption while you enjoy the diverse marine life. Upon completion you will receive a Scuba Skills Update Decal for your c-card and documentation for your logbook as evidence to dive operators of your efforts to stay current with your skills and diving knowledge.

Here is how to begin:

1. Sign up in advance for your Scuba Skills Update Program.

2. Purchase the Scuba Skills Update Student Kit, and complete the workbook prior to the scheduled activity. The workbook is required and will help identify your needs, reduce time needed in the classroom, and allow more dive time.

3. Arrive at check-in ready for adventure. Wear your bathing suit and comfortable clothing. Bring your completed Scuba Skills Update Workbook, certification-card from any agency, activity voucher, towel, sunscreen, a snack and drinks if you would like. If you have your own gear bring it along, if not, we will provide any diving equipment that you need at no additional cost.

4. You will need to provide your own transportation by car throughout the activity.

SSI SCUBA Skills Update Student Kit $34.95
2nd tank dive, same day (optional-if time permits) $20.00

PREREQUISITES:
Certification as an Open Water Diver or higher level from any certification agency.

SCHEDULE:
12:45pm to 5:30pm preferred or 7:00am to 12:30pm

You will receive a 10% discount on subsequent activity bookings within 2 weeks with Maui Dive Shop. Complete activity packages are available at all Maui Dive Shop locations. Some of the activities available include snorkeling trips, dinner cruises, horseback rides, parasailing, helicopter tours, luaus, Haleakala bike rides and much more.
