Eco Friendly Matters

Maui Dive Shop and Alii Nui Sailing Charters have been champions in trying to preserve and protect the environment since the company was founded in 1978. Our entire team is dedicated to Reducing, Reusing and Recycling. These are some of the ways that we contribute to saving the beauty of the island.

Alii Nui and Maui Dive Shop Dive and Snorkel Boats:

• Recycle all plastic, paper, glass and cans
• We pump all waste at the dock and do not deposit waste in the ocean
• Maui Dive Shop has participated in dives that are exclusively for the purpose of cleaning up certain dive locations
• Maui Dive Shop participates in beach clean up days
• We do not use fish food
• Our chef uses local produce and products that support our local farmers and vendors
• Purified water for drinking is provided by a local Maui company
• Randomly pick up “ocean trash” as we go about our daily charters

In addition to all the recycling procedures listed above, the Alii Nui has these recycling procedures in place:

• Reusable dishes, plates, silverware, coffee mugs, champagne and wine glasses
• 70% of the time we are sailing aboard this boat which lowers our use of fuel

Maui Dive Shop is also a member of The Maui Reef Fund. The Maui Reef Fund is a private program designed to help ensure that the outstanding coral reefs that you are visiting today are protected and healthy for generations to come.
