My husband (Jerry) and I were on Maui 8-15 through 8-22 and ended up going to the new Lahaina location because they were open late. I can’t tell you how extremely happy we were that we ended up there instead of the store in Kahana (just around the corner of our hotel) which was closed when we arrived. The staff at your Lahaina location is exceptional. Everyone there, Ben, Jim, Rod, and Terry was an absolute delight.
We ended up diving everyday with Maui Dive Shop, Ben most often and Jim once. Ben is so personable and as brand new divers helped us feel so comfortable that we enjoyed every minute of ALL of our dives with him. I can honestly say that Ben made our dives AND our whole trip completely awesome! Jim was just as good. They both took the time to point out the many diverse animals during our dives and let us explore without rushing us but, of course, keeping us safe. My husband took so many pictures that we’re still trying to sort through them all! We wanted to Thank you AND especially the staff at the Lahaina location for such a GREAT trip.
We look forward to the next time we’re lucky enough to be in such a Wonderful place and enjoy it with such GREAT people. I will recommend Ben, Jim and Lahaina location to everyone that I know going that direction!"

I wanted to drop a line to thank the crew of the Maka Koa for an excellent dive experience. We dove the Sat, Aug 22, 2009 dive trip to Lanai and it was terrific.
Capt. Geno was the most extraordinary relaxing boat captain I have ever know, He made everyone feel relaxed and at ease and truly exemplifies the ALOHA state of mind. The divemaster Tim was a consummate professional who provided a relaxed yet professional briefing.
Swimming with white tip sharks and turtles Tim knew exactly what to look for and provided an experience for my son Alex and I that we will never forget. Until we meet again, excellent job Maui Dive Shop!

My wife and I have a wonderful experience scuba diving off of the Maka Koa. We visited Maui last week and did the Monday afternoon Ben Gunn Cove two-tank dive as well as the Thursday morning Molokini and Five Caves dives. The entire experience was fantastic. Captain Dan did a terrific job. He was very professional and is certainly one of the best captains we have experienced. The next time we are in Maui, we will certainly be requesting a dive trip with Captain Dan.

Just a quick email to give compliments and kudos to your crew [both land and ocean] for providing me the best first boat dive experience ever! Diving took place on Nov 27 from the Maka Koa. Huge thanks to Captain Gino - great personality and fellow union bro (although I'm not an engineer), and to Mark, our group's very tall dive guide. Totally awesome with Natalie, the 13-year old in our group, and with everyone else, and enjoyed our boat convo on accents. Thanks also to Eric, your new employee and my de facto dive buddy who was cool, and to Jason at the store. All told, diving with MDS was a great experience and I've watched my CD about 50 times since I got back to Vancouver. However, I'm inspired to dive every chance I can get. :-] I'll definitely be diving with you guys next time I'm over there, which will hopefully be during the 2010 Winter Olympics (when I have no intention whatsoever of being in the circus that will become this city), if not during a quick trip in 2009.

"I have dove with Maui Dive Shop a few times over the past 5 years and I have to say that they are my favorite dive shop on Maui. The staff in the stores were very helpful and friendly. The crews on the boats were also very friendly, helpful, and worked to make our diving experience a good one. The smaller size of the boats were a little concerning at first but we really liked the more personal attention we got and the smaller group size worked great! If you are on the island of Maui and looking go diving do not hesitate to give this shop a try.

Maui Dive Shop - Introduction to Scuba / Certification
We came to Maui in Mar 2009, and signed our son & daughter up for the Open Water Dive course. After the first day, our daughter decided it wasn't for her. Juan from the south Kihei office was the kids instructor. Juan was great, he gave her words of encouragement, but he made her feel good about whatever decision she made about the course. She did decide not to continue.... she felt bad walking into the shop with a feeling of failure. But the staff were great, they made her feel very content with her decision. They also refunded the course, and just charged us for the day rate, with no attitude or judgment what-so-ever. Our son continued the course with Juan. He passed with flying colors, and he loved it. We were very impressed with your staff especially Juan and (I think it's) Amanda (she has a 18mth old baby), these two were just great!! Juan is very detailed oriented and very thorough. Had a great time and have and will recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience. We were there for a month renting equipment for about 20 days, and every day was a great experience!! Thank you for a great memory!!

I recently visited Maui and completed my PADI certification and 3 dives (1 confined water dive, and 2 open water dives) on 7/12-14.
My instructor was Ron Karash. I must say I was pretty nervous before my first dive, I didn't know who my instructor was going to be
and how we would interact together. After meeting Ron at the dive shop I felt very comfortable with him and much of my anxiety was
eased. After my first dive lesson I asked Ron if he would be my instructor for the following 2 days, he said at that point he was
unsure. He ended up being my instructor for all three days and I had such a great diving experience with him. He was so
knowledgeable, easy to ask questions and to approach and took as much time as I needed to review things I was unclear about. He was
extremely thorough and we discussed everything I would do that day before the dive started, then right before each dive he reviewed
what we would do during the dive. I never felt uncomfortable or scared to ask him to repeat anything or review anything i was
unclear of. I must say, I'm so excited to be a PADI certified diver, and don't think I could have found a better instructor

Alii Nui Snorkel Sail - CLICK HERE TO VISIT ALII NUI
We want you to know that several weeks ago we booked a snorkeling cruise on the Alii Nui. It was our first trip to Maui and also our first time snorkeling. I was somewhat apprehensive so we visited the Maui Dive Shop and the gentleman there was so helpful and made us feel comfortable to just try it. What a trip! We were treated like royalty! The ladies on board helped us so much that we gained confidence immediately. This was one of the biggest thrills of my lifetime. We have told everyone we come in contact with about this luxury cruise. We would like to be able to come again with our family and book another cruise with you.

"My wife and I were recently in Maui celebrating our 2 year anniversary. I love snorkeling and my wife is crazy about sea turtles so we decided to take the Alli Nui trip. It was the highlight of our vacation! We not only saw enough turtles to make the trip woth the money but also about 12 bottlenose dolphins swimming and playing around our boat and there was an unexpected surprise, a humpback whale and her calf. We couldn't believe how great an experience this was and the crew of the boat was awesome as well. The captain was very informative and funny and he shared our excitement in everything we saw. The two ladies helping him were awesome too. We really had a great time and it made for a wonderful vacation. I just wanted to say thanks for the memories and the hospitality showed by your captain and his crew. The trip was worth every penny and then some.

Aloha Maui Dive Shop......
My wife and I wanted to let you know how extremely happy we were last week when purchasing dive masks and snorkels from your store (the one in the shopping center off the Honoapiilani highway in Lahaina). A young girl named Savannah works there and she was absolutely positively one of the most helpful and delightful sales persons we have ever encountered (I am 57 years old, my wife is 53). She stayed focused on us the entire time, was not distracted by any other customers, made a phone call on one of the masks to her boyfriend, as he came from California and uses one of the masks I was interested in (we live in California and I was concerned that the sun glare tint on the mask might make visibility worse when I dive in the kelp beds here off of the Palos Verdes area). She was pleasant as can be in every way, super helpful, and I just can’t tell you how impressed we were on her knowledge and professional demeanor and friendliness all wrapped up in one package.
Savannah was not working in the store when I returned a few days later to thank her and to tell her how well the new masks worked for us, so I hope you can pass this or the word on to her that we were extremely grateful for her help.
By the way, we are not rookies to diving. I have been spear fishing for over 40 years, and my father-in-law was (up until he sold his ½ of the business to Ron Merker in 1983) the co-owner of the Aquatic Center Dive shops in Orange County California (Omar Wood, who is also one of the 80 people chosen worldwide as “fathers of free diving” elected a few years ago). All the Aquatic Center salesman were dive instructors and they all had the same level of professionalism shown by Savannah. I hope that testimony alone helps qualify how much we were pleased and impressed.
