See the stars from 80 feet...... Our first dive (if weather cooperates, Molokini Crater!) on this charter is conducted as a dusk dive allowing divers to become familiar with the reef and witness the changes as creatures of the day settle in and creatures of the night awake. The second dive is a full night dive with a surprising amount of color and activity. The changes on the reef are remarkable. Hard corals seem to coat themselves with velvet as their polyps open to feed on the plankton
attracted by divers lights. Lobsters, shrimp and crabs come out and walk on the reef in search for food. Squid, night octopus, conger eels and many shelled animals come out to feed as day creatures seek refuge and places to rest. Parrot fish can be seen making cocoons of mucus to sleep in while nudibranchs will swim in the open.
An amazing phenomenon that causes microscopic organisms to glow like fireflies called bioluminescence attracts a lot of attention as divers movements stir the water. The crew will assist the first time night divers to become familiar with the
techniques of night diving.
